Atlanta Shenanigans

Old Charlotte Russe top & skirt, Asos bag, Forever21 necklace and neon Wet Seal heels that I have to wear every chance I get and they get a million comments. I like playing with colors.

An old friend and I who have not seen each other in awhile recently got together to frolick about the city. Our main reason for doing so was because of Museum Day. I had printed out our free passes, we got dolled up and drove downtown only to be turned away. We arrived at the High to find a crowd of angry people giving the doorman a piece of their mind for not letting anyone else in. I’m not sure what the real reasoning was, but luckily, it wasn’t a total waste. We ended up sitting outside the museum to people watch for awhile and plan our next move. We decided to just walk around and find a place for drinks. Shout, a fun and trendy restaurant down the road from the museum, was our final decision after wandering around aimlessly. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside for hours with drinks and appetizers until my boyfriend got off work to meet us. During this time, we attracted the usual entertainment and somehow got invited back to the hotel suite of two guys from Finland. Of course, we kindly declined. Never a dull moment with us. Anyways. From there, we headed over to the Highlands for drinks at Highland Tap and more drinks and delicious food at Fontaine’s. I adore the Highlands. It’s perfect for a girls’ night out or date night with all the restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance from Piedmont Park, etc. It’s also neat knowing that my mother hung out there as a young lady. Atlanta can be a lovely outing in nice weather if you know where you’re going. Already being a fan of the art museum, Highland Tap (dark cellar atmosphere, known for great steaks) and Shout (very lively spot, pretty good nachos and chili fries), I would recommend those places to anyone. Fontaine’s was new to me, but a quite impressive hangout with a warm setting and amazing french fries. I’m always up for trying new places and discovering diamonds in the rough.

She wanted to go through my closet to play dress-up before leaving, so I lent her the Forever21 dress she’s modeling above.
